New 210 m2 / 2250 f2 private residence in the Boca del Rio region of Veracruz. This house, designed for a retired couple, amplifies its diminutive scale through the use of deep frames which capture views from bedrooms, past intimate courtyards, to the communal areas of the house, and vice versa. The frames create transition zones between the interiors and the courtyards, and are subsequently used as pockets for built in seating and desks. The frames are also used as natural light modulators to soften its quality within the house. Views are predominately internal focusing on the connection to the vivid Mexican skies. The blue hues are brought into the house as color accents to further reinforce the celestial link.
Construction of the frame house was carried out in collaboration with architect Luis Angel Garcia, Principal of StudioAG Arquitectura based in Veracruz City.
